Front end developer
We're looking for a front end developer with advanced CSS skills to turn our designs into living, breathing websites.
About you
- You have an online portfolio of fully accessible sites hand-coded in standards-compliant XHTML/CSS
- Your best friend is Firebug and layout tables make you weep
- Client-side functionality with unobtrusive javascript gets you excited
- You want to learn even more about pushing the boundaries of the web
- You have good experience in javascript libraries, for example jQuery, prototype, script.aculo.us, Yahoo UI etc.
- You have a good understanding of user interface design and usability principles
- You have a good grasp of server-side technologies and an understanding of AJAX
- You have an almost unhealthy attention to detail and take real pride in the finished product
- You have previous agency experience
- You are well organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
About the role
- You will work with the planning and design teams to agree the best approach to each project
- You'll take signed-off Photoshops and create advanced CSS layouts
- You'll use your eye for design to extrapolate Photoshops and wireframes where required
- You'll develop client-side functionality using unobtrusive javascript
- You'll build entire, hand-crafted brochure sites (like this one)
- You'll create templates for implementation on to Content Management Systems
- You'll create templates for implementation on to complex bespoke applications
- You'll work with implementation teams to guarantee the quality of the finished product
This position will require a confident, proactive and experienced candidate with the requisite skills to be able to "hit the ground running". You will also have the ability to respond positively to client feedback and to work as part of a team.
You must be a Graduate or equivalent, be based in London and have a UK work permit.
