PHP developer
We're looking for an energetic and creative PHP Developer with a great understanding of modern web development best practices and standards.
About you
- You have expertise in web programming, including PHP (ideally OO PHP 5), MySQL, jQuery, AJAX, XHTML, and CSS
- You have a demonstrable track record of producing of high quality, scalable websites and web applications
- You are keeping abreast of current best practices and emerging web technologies
- Ideally, you have good experience implementing and extending open source Content Management Systems like Drupal, WordPress, Joomla! and ExpressionEngine
- You have a good understanding of progressive enhancement, accessibility and usability
- You have an almost unhealthy attention to detail and take real pride in the finished product
- You are well organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
About the role
- You will work with the planning and design team to agree the best approach to each project
- You will work with the development team to define the technical architecture for websites and web applications
- You will construct new standards compliant websites, based on wireframes, designs and (X)HTML/CSS/JS prototypes
- You will also be responsible for the maintenance and development of existing LAMP-based applications
- You will produce code that is easy to maintain, well-documented and scalable
- You will take responsibility for testing the code that you create
This position will require a confident, proactive and experienced candidate with the requisite skills to be able to "hit the ground running". You will also have the ability to respond positively to client feedback and to work as part of a team.
You must be a Graduate or equivalent, be based in London and have a UK work permit.
