Family vie website launched

We are delighted to announce the launch of family vie: a new online community specifically focused towards parents.

The entire project has been a great collaborative exercise. Family vie provided a very comprehensive brief and supporting IA; the website design was delivered by Harland Creative; while we built the supporting XHTML and CSS and implemented the functionality required to drive the community on WordPress 3 - the latest version of the ever-popular content management system.

Caroline John, founder of family vie said:

I have been very impressed with the way that 9web managed the family vie project. The whole build and launch was handled virtually - no need for long meetings. They understood the brief well and the final build is very much in line with my initial requirements.

They were proactive with their suggestions both during the consultation and build phases. There was a seamless liaison with my designer on branding and the final deployment went smoothly.

Darren and Chris led the project, and were approachable and quick to respond to questions. I would be glad to recommend 9web's services and would definitely use them again.

ExpressionEngine 2 comes out of beta

Yesterday, ExpressionEngine 2.1 was announced. Today, 9web are working on a client project to utilise this latest release.

Following our recent EE successes with Elephant Family and PFRA, we've been looking forward to getting our hands on the latest version of ExpressionEngine; and to adding another great site to our already impressive portfolio.

Version 2 has a vastly improved admin interface that will make typical client tasks much more intuitive - and we’re particularly impressed with the in-built file management and image editing tools.

Chris, our lead EE developer, is looking forward to putting the latest version of the CMS through its paces and of course, we'll be shouting about the next project just as soon as the site goes live.

Elephant Parade draws to a close

As a proud sponsor of Elephant Parade, 9web were delighted to receive an invitation to the end of parade auction.

The auction took place on Saturday 3rd July at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea and presented an opportunity to bid for 49 of the fantastic pieces that have spent the past 2 months located in various sites around the city. We sent our new Operations Manager, Darren, along to see why we’ve been so excited to support this fantastic cause.

Darren said:

The view of all of the elephants on parade in the gardens was amazing - you couldn’t help but smile and be massively impressed. Each piece is a unique work of art but the splash of vivid colours all thrown together was breathtaking. My wife and I arrived with the auction in full-swing and the buzz in the marquee was magic - everybody cheering and congratulating each other when bids were successful. I was really thrilled to be there - it was very moving to realise how much energy had been thrown at the fantastic cause.

Elephant Parade raised over £4 million to support various on the ground plans to save the Asian elephant from extinction in the wild.

PFRA website launched

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new website for the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA).

The PFRA works with charities, professional fundraising organisations, statutory regulators, local authorities and national governments throughout the UK to regulate face-to-face (F2F) fundraising.

Following a comprehensive strategy and positioning review, we were brought on board to work with the PFRA team to develop a new website that facilitates simple, clear user journeys through the site allowing key stakeholders to easily navigate to the content they are looking for.

The site was built on ExpressionEngine, giving the PFRA editorial team a simple administrative interface to manage their content, putting them firmly in control of their online communications.

Ian MacQuillin, Head of Communications at PFRA, said:

This was a sophisticated, slightly schizophrenic brief in that we had to present a single consistent style while addressing different audiences, but 9web immediately grasped what we needed and delivered a sleek and easily-navigable site.
