The new Elephant Family website went live this weekend in time for the start of Elephant Parade London 2010.
Elephant Family is a small but hugely ambitious charity, working to save the Asian elephant from extinction and abuse. Their vision is a world in which the Asian elephant is no longer an endangered species and is able to live unthreatened within its own habitat.
Following a rebranding exercise, we worked closely with the Elephant Family team to help them with their information architecture and visual design.
Once the design was agreed, we quickly translated the design into standards compliant front end templates before implementation on to the ExpressionEngine content management system.
Following some great work from the Elephant Family team to populate the site with content and imagery, we managed to get the site live in time for the launch of Elephant Parade. Just.

We are delighted to announce that we are an official sponsor of Elephant Parade London 2010.
Elephant Parade is a conservation campaign that shines a multi-coloured spotlight on the urgent crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant. The event is coordinated by Elephant Family and sees over 250 brightly painted life-size elephants located over central London this summer.
Our elephant is called Luna and he can be found twinkling away in all his fibreoptic glory in Westfield shopping centre, Shepherd's Bush from Monday 3rd May when the parade begins.
Having recently worked with Elephant Family on their new website, we jumped at the opportunity to get involved with Elephant Parade and support their mission to paint a brighter future for the endangered Asian elephant.

Today sees the launch of IFRA supported by a website designed and built by 9web.
IFRA has been established by the leading specialist food recruiters in distinct international markets and offers the largest and most diverse range of job vacancies in the food sector internationally.
As a new venture with multiple independent recruitment consultancies as stakeholders, the project began with a requirements gathering exercise to establish the dataset for the vacancies to be published on the site. We then translated this into a simple information architecture, applied a clean, authoritative look and feel and built a bespoke admin interface for all parties to manage their job postings on the site.
Stephen Jones, Director of FMCL said:
With so many stakeholders involved in this web development, this was not an easy brief, but 9web helped find a route through that was not a compromise. They developed a workable, and effective solution, showing patience, flexibility, resolve and expertise that produced a great site!

Today sees the launch of ACT Alliance, supported by a new website designed by 9web.
ACT Alliance is composed of more than 100 organisations working in long-term development and humanitarian assistance. The alliance has over 30,000 people working for it in 125 countries and mobilises US$1.5 billion annually in its work for a just world.
During the project we worked closely with the ACT Alliance communications team to define a flexible information architecture for the website to meet the needs of its external audiences and its members.
We then delivered an image-led visual identity with extensive use of imagery and video to communicate the breadth of work undertaken by ACT members worldwide. Our front end design was then implemented on to the Plone CMS by Fry-IT.
