SOAS Digital archive goes live

Today sees the launch of the School of Oriental & African Studies Digital Archives & Special Collections.

The first phase of the digitisation project was focused around the photographic archive of Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf. This collection is widely recognised as the world's most comprehensive visual documentation of tribal cultures in South Asia and the Himalayas and has made more than 10,000 rare anthropological images available online for researchers and general public worldwide.

Working closely with the key stakeholders from SOAS and the EPrints team at ULCC, we developed a flexible information architecture for the online repository to showcase the Fürer-Haimendorf collection now and allow collections of rare manuscripts, books, photographs, audio and film material, to be freely available for everyone online when they are digitised.

The visual design compliments the core look and feel of the main SOAS site and the interactive elements of the user interface were fine tuned via extensive usability testing throughout the planning, design and development cycle.

New Walsh Group website launched

Today sees the launch of a new website for structural and civil engineering consortium, Walsh Group.

Walsh Group have an enviable portfolio of current and completed projects and their capabilities cover most aspects of structural and civil engineering. As such, it was important for the new website to demonstrate the capabilities of the Group and showcase their project portfolio.

The project was another successful collaboration with Creative Interpartners who developed the look and feel for the website. 9web then took the visual design and delivered a standards compliant technical build, including a bespoke database to manage the Group's project portfolio.

Plan Canada goes live

Today sees the launch of the new Plan Canada website, the latest in the Plan family to be designed by 9web.

Plan Canada follow Plan Spain and Plan Ireland in using the information architecture, graphic design and XHTML/CSS templates we developed for Plan's national organisations in parallel with the redesign of the Plan International website.

Lesa O'Brien, Director of New Media at Plan Canada said:

I can't thank the 9web team enough for all their help and support throughout this process. Everyone in the Canada office is absolutely thrilled with the new design - the cleanliness of it, the organization of the information and the functionality. It was easy to implement the templates into our CMS - having all of the files already created was an enormous time and cost savings for us. Huge thanks, we are thrilled with the results.
