The BAAPS is based at The Royal College of Surgeons and was established for the advancement of education and safety in Aesthetic Surgery. We have been working with the BAAPS since 2005 and were commissioned to redesign the site and update the underlying technology in Summer 2009.

Find a surgeon sectionPrior to the website redesign project, the BAAPS had been through a full review of their visual branding and the key messages that they want to communicate. These changes needed to be reflected online, so we were brought on board to redesign the website. The two main objectives for the project were to modernise the visual design of the website to reflect the BAAPS more accurately and to improve the usability of the website for people considering surgery.
We began with an in depth review of visitor behaviour on the existing website. This drove a reworking of the site architecture to make sure that key patient information is brought to the forefront, giving users the facts they need to make an informed decision about a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. The BAAPS key messages about safety in surgery are also central to the site architecture as are professional profiles of BAAPS members, all of whom are on the Specialist Register of Plastic Surgeons maintained by the General Medical Council.
Once the site structure had been agreed, our iterative creative design process delivered a clean, contemporary look and feel for the website that reaches out to the target audience and complements the reworked branding.
During the technical build, we upgraded the underlying technology to streamline content management, develop the members' only area and improve the organic search engine optimisation of the site. The site also integrates fully with a bespoke membership management database that gives members the ability to manage their professional profile and contact information, thus generating referrals for surgeons and adding significant value for the members.
Rajiv Grover - Consultant Plastic Surgeon and BAAPS Council memberI am absolutely delighted with the new BAAPS website, designed and delivered perfectly on schedule. Ian and the 9web team have been creative, diligent and a pleasure to work with during the creative process. This site now offers an improved look, as well as improved accessibility for the public wishing to research cosmetic surgery procedures. This is a job really well done. Many thanks to all the team!
